Ummmm, but where exactly IS the Vendée…?

When I first moved here some ten years ago, the folks back home would ask ‘But where exactly IS the Vendée’… My usual reply was something along the lines of ‘Down a wee bit from Brittany and up a wee bit from Bordeaux ».  In retrospect, this goes a long way to explaining why I was the only one in my class to fail my Geography O’Level…

I reckon what is called for is a proper map of France.

The nearest airports are Nantes-Atlantique and La Rochelle, you can pick up the Eurostar in London direct to Lille and the TGV fast train then connects you to La Roche sur Yon or les Sables d’Olonne. Easy peasy, all you need now is to get packing…!

    Hello Mary,

    Nice to have found you again. Have you been to la Poste in St Hilaire recently?
    I take it that your B & B is now functioning, but why is it not featured on this site?
    Did you know that your « Contact Us » button at the bottom of the page does not lead anywhere?

    Sarah, our nearest speciality beer bar is in St Gilles Croix de Vie, it’s called Le Sloop, on the Croix de Vie side of town.

    Easy by train from Paris too as I have done it…..great restaurants too and remember my husbnd loving an excellent beer bar…what was the name…in the town centr?
