Meet the farm animals on La Ferme des Pommettes

 

When we turned up for our first visit of 2010 to La Ferme des Pommettes, the lady greeted us with a big smile and said « Je me rappelle de vous trois! » Nice to be remembered, just hope it’s for all the right reasons!

You could easily spend 2 hours at this living farm, we’ve been back about 15 times since the summer of 2007. We’re now the proud owners of a well-bashed up loyalty card that entitles you on your fourth & consecutive visits to one free adult entry per family. Ah, we love the place! There had been two foals born the week before our visit, Andy and Arina. (It’s the year of the letter A in the French Animal Kingdom).

There’s just about every farm animal under the sun on this farm.  You’ll be given a bag of seed and hay to feed the animals.  Climb into the pens for some great Kodak moments in the making! For two euros extra, our son got a 15 minute pony ride on Nounours.  I nearly forgot, the tractor ride around the farm, the kids love it!  I love it!  I’m terrified I’m going to fall out, all part of the charm!

La Ferme des Pommettes is in St Jean de Monts.  Pick up a flyer from the tourist office and the entry fee will be 3,50 per adult and 3 € per child from 3 yrs of age and up.  Ask for a Carte de Fidelité at the farm, it’ll entitle you to a reduction on your next visit, even if it’s the following year.

Open until 15th June at the weekends only, bank holidays and French school holidays from 2pm to 7 pm.

From 16th to 30th June, and from 1st to 9th Sept, open every day from 2pm to 7 pm.

High Season from 1st July to 31st August, open every day 10 am to 7 pm.

From 27th Oct to 7th November, open from 2 pm to 7 pm.
