Blooming Lovely! Le Jardin des Olfacties in Coëx.

Lundi, mars 8th, 2010

I bring all my visitors to this gorgeously scented garden!  And for once, you can let the kids touch just about everything, the signs say so!

You enter the gardens via the souvenir shop and if you’re looking for a wee present to bring home with you, you’ll be sure to find it here!  Perfumes & scented candles, local honey & jams… Which reminds me, their jam competition last September went down a treat with all of us!

Le Jardin des Olfacties is spread out over 5 hectares (that’s one big garden!).  My favourite parts are the tropical walkway, (reminds me of my travels through New Zealand, it is so well done) and the Japanese style pagoda.  There’s a guided visit of the gardens every afternoon in high season (in French only, but there’s still time to brush up!)

Myself & my Pa down by the Pagoda

It really does take about 2 hours to visit everything.  The entry price is 6,80 for adults, 3€  for kids from 6 to 12 yrs of age and the good news is that kiddies under 6 go free.  Our 4 yr old loves the place, there’s loads of space for him to run around.

If you’d like some more info, check out their English website for upcoming events.  My son Liam is counting down the days to the Easter Egg Hunt, 4th & 5th April!  Prices as above and you don’t need to register the kids for the egg hunt.  The weather isn’t looking too hot, but we’re still going!  The eggs won’t be chocolate ones in case it rains, but the kids can change them for the real McCoy at the end of the day!

Open from early 4th April to the 26th September.

Remember to bring some bread to feed the ducks!

Just one of the 3,000 species you can smell!
