Vintage cars for sale

I don’t think I’ve EVER been this busy on Easter Sunday, but there was so much to do and we’d a bouncy four year old at home raring to go!

We started the day with a visit to the Vintage Car Sell & Display at La Salle de la Baritaudière in St Hilaire de Riez.  Well, I can always dream, can’t I?!  The men were just as impressed by the remote controlled car race, I think it’s a boy thing…

Easter Egg Hunt

After lunch,we headed to Le Jardin des Olfacties for the Easter Egg Hunt.  The hunt is taking place on Easter Sunday & Monday from 2 – 7 pm, word of advice, wear your wellies ‘cos the ground is very muddy.  Prices as usual, 6,80 for 13 yrs and up, 3 € for 6 -12, and free for the under 6’s.

We raced around the park collecting the requisite number of multi-coloured eggs.  I was as excited as the kids, there was a bag of mini chocolate Easter Eggs at stake here after all!  We’d forgotten the bread for the ducks, but they too busy happily roaming around the park to notice.

The kids collected their chocolate eggs on the way out, and were rewarded with some sunflower seeds, while I had a nosey around the gorgeous shop and treated myself to a few bits and bobs.  We jumped in the car and drove ten minutes back to St Gilles Croix de Vie.

Street theatre

Down near the Casino, just opposite the River, there was street theatre, free donkey rides (link in French), a vegetable merry-go-round (really!), a creative workshop for the wee ones, a little mobile farm where you could pet the animals and milk the goats (maybe next year…).

Despite my best intentions, I never made it up in time this morning to see the 100 plus vintage cars set off on their 100 km circuit but there’s always next year!
